More evidence that planning too far in advance can be a bad thing, here are the fourth generation Z Senshi from DBYZ. I haven't even gotten close to their stories, but Raiu, Benten, and Jou-ri (center and bottom right) do appear in my DBSZ crossover. The other two characters are related to canon cast members; try to guess who.
This is a sort of tribute piece to Vegeta and Bulma, depicting them on their first night together. Aw~! This is drawn 'realistically' like the previous piece, which I think helps the somber mood I was aiming for. I'm also a detail freak, so all of Vegeta's scars are just the same as shown in his infamous shower seen. XD
I recently took up drawing DBZ characters again in preparation for getting back to my fanfiction. This first piece is sort of revision to the old 'Trunks vs Goten' pic. My style has matured quite nicely, if I do say so myself.
Part of an assignment for a figure drawing class. Yes, that's Vegeta. Yes, he looks kinda real. Kinda. I'm not entirely satisfied with how he turned out, though. The stupid markers we had to use muddle up some of the finer details and the legs just look off. But that's probably the best Oozaru I've ever drawn.
Goten and Trunks sparring. This is how they'll look in the future of Dragon Ball Yugure Z. You can see where I duplicated limbs in an effort to show a bit more action. As usual, I'm not happy with how Trunks turned out.
Trunks unsheathing his "big nasty." This is something I just HAD to draw after seeing a certain site. I hadn't drawn straight DBZ style in a long time before this and I figured it was high time I got back to my anime roots. But I got lazy and tried the gradient coloring again, so I was surprised how nice it turned out.
Some gift art for Marron, one of the three authoresses of Dragon Ball Super Z. This one is (obviously) depicting Marron and Juuhachi-gou, which is doubly appropriate since the author-Juu and she are real life mother and daughter. I mostly like this piece because I don't get to draw to Juuhachi-gou very much. I have a habit of killing off the Jinzouningen in my fanfiction. ^o^
Gogetza and Krisi, two Saiyajin mercenaries created by author Gogetza (also known as Garshrink Grimjaw) for his own DBSZ fanfiction (since abandoned and unfinished). I had a lot of fun drawing these characters, as you can see by the detail in Gogetza's armor.
Bulma and her Jinzouningyo, for Deaku's DBSZ side-story fic, The Lost Jinzouningen Saga. If you don't get it, jinzouningyo means "artificial doll" and in DBSZ, Vegeta often complains about his mate's habit of collecting dolls.
A poster I wanted to make for my favorite DBZ fanfic, Dragon Ball Super Z. Unfortunately, I never got around to CGing it like I intended, so the whole thing is plain black-and-white. I suppose I'll go back to it eventually, but seeing as how I was pretty much kicked off the DBSZ forum, I don't have much incentive. 9_9
Beyond Super Saiyajin Vegeta, a scene from Episode 10 of Dragon Ball Yugure Z. This is probably the oldest pic I've ever posted online, as it was originally going to be part of the site navigation for my old site. Even though it's old, the drawing itself is good and I still like how the colors turned out.
Rettetsu, a Saiyajin character who will be appearing in later volumes of Dragon Ball Yugure Z. His name is a pun on 'lettuce'. I don't mind telling you now that he lacks the ability to go Super Saiyajin, but he's found...other ways...to compensate. ^__^
Here we have one of the characters who will be appearing in Dragon Ball Tenmei Z, the sister story to DBYZ that I will be starting soon. His name is O-Renji; I particularly like his design. There are a number of visual clues in this image and astute DBZ fans may be able to discern where his place is in the "what if?" series.
Umeko, a principle cast member in the upcoming DBTZ. I wanted to do something different with her so she doesn't seem like the uniform, spikey-haired Dragon Ball character. She has a fiesty personality and I hope Umeko will be more interesting to readers than the canon character she replaces.
