From a second badge commission for Shin-Goji. KIGA is GINA's crazy sister, based on the GMK-incarnation of Godzilla, hence the gray skin and blank eyes. This was a challenge to CG, because the look I wanted for the straight jacket meant it had to be colored by hand. Among the badges, I'm proudest of this piece the most.
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. This is also a fulfillment of an early pic request Shin had for me of Kim stuck against the monitor. It looks particularly good as a badge. His shirt is a kaijufied spoof of NekoKoneko from Azumanga Daioh, of which you can see the full version in the Color Graphics Gallery.
From a second badge commission for Shin-Goji. Dizzy is based on the title villain of Godzilla vs Destroyah, though her personality is the polar opposite. I couldn't help but infuse a little Washu into this pic.
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. This is third of Coug'r's best K-Girl designs. Titanna was based on Titannosaurus, a one-shot kaiju who appeared at the very end of the Showa era. She happens to be a fan favorite due to her...er, generous proportions. Her spots were particularly tricky.
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. Mega-Lass is more complicated in design than other K-Girls, so this was probably the most challenging to color.
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. Compositionally simple; this piece was designed with a border in mind, which is why her arms are cut off. A vast improvement over my first GINA fanart, methinks. ^-^
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. One of the senior K-Girls, Ghidi is based on King Ghidorah, but is obviously much cuter. I'm not sure if that was the original intention, but I couldn't help but think of Mihoshi while drawing her.
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. Another brilliant design by Coug'r; Crystal is the resident 'badgirl' of Daikaiju High and is based on Space Godzilla.
Millena was originally created by a TKT forumer named Chaosynergy, but we all kind of agreed that his version...er...wasn't up to snuff. So he gave me the chance to make this version, which is infinitely cooler. She's based on the Millennian, the blue squid-like alien from Godzilla 2000 before it turned into Orga (also a K-Girl, Organna). I've always wanted to draw a girl with dreadlocks. ^_^ I tried to show Millena's semi-gelatinous nature, but Captain Slug does it waaaaay better than me.
Whew boy, this one was a lot of work. Bai herself went much quicker than the first pic, but a LOT of work went into all the other details, particularly the brick wall. There was a lot of experimenting on this one, but for once, a picture turned out exactly as I intended it to. ^_^v
One of seven recently commissioned pieces for Shin-Goji. This is my first time drawing Anji-Lass, one of the original K-Girls designed by anthro god Coug'r. I like her personality and she was fun to draw. This one is also significant because it's the first time I CGed a K-Girl using cel-style coloring.
This is Bai Xiong, a K-Girl based on the fanboy favorite kaiju Bagan, who has yet to make it into a movie and only has one video game appearance to his credit: Super Godzilla for SNES. Funny thing is, I wasn't the only one who planned on making a Bagan K-Girl. However, mine is unique as it was specifically designed based on the 2nd Generation Bagan. Shin-Goji has a soft spot for goth girls, hence the look of this character. She was a bit of a pain to CG because of all the details.
The first two K-Girls I designed are reluctant buddies, not so much like in the movie, but rather how they're portrayed in the TKT comics. Opposites attract, as they say. Megan--and to a lesser extent, Giganna--are featured in a piece of Daikaiju High School fanfiction over in the Literary Arts section.
Sora is based on a Tyrannosaurus-like Showa kaiju named Gorosaurus. His specialty was a "kangaroo kick", so creator Roequ and I decided she should be a kickboxer. Personally, I believe this is one of the best K-Girl pics I've done. The speed and power of her kick come across quite well. The katakana in the back is "DON!", a common manga sound effect for heavy hits.
This one is Mega-Lass, based on Megaguirus, the titular villain of the third Shinsei Godzilla movie. This pic was a real challenge, because I tweaked every single limb and bit of armor to look just right, but I think it's one of my best CGed pics in a long time. Hurray for blatantly suggestive posture! Watch out for that stinger. ^_~
Guy-Ko Kim Odo, or just Kim for short, is the only official K-Guy at TKT and is Shin-Goji's personal role-playing character. He looks and acts a lot like a certain spiky-haired alien fighter, which is why I liked drawing him. ^_^
This K-Girl is Mandy, who is based on Manda, the obligatory kaiju villain of the movie Atragon, as well as a bit player in Destroy All Monsters. Manda reminds me a lot of DBZ's Shenlong, so I really wanted to do this design. The obscenely long tail required some careful coloring.
I'm having fun messing around with the styles and textures. This one combines my experiments with GINA with a bit of my gradient-CGing. I happen to like the results. So anyway, this is Green Mary, TKT's very first K-Girl. She's partly based on the character Blue Mary from King of Fighters, but was inspired by one of Shin-Goji's friends. I kinda goofed on her ears and made them human, when all the other artists give her cat-like ears like GINA's. >_<
This is Giganna and so far, she's one of my favorite K-Girls. The character already existed in the K-Girl roster, but no one payed much attention to her and Shin-Goji decided my alternate design should be the official one. Huzzah! She's based on Gigan, a strange cyborg kaiju from the Showa movies. Giganna is a punk rocker-type with a penchant for vice, hence the cig.
The third in a rapid series of Megan pics. This is her battle mode, where her metal fingers close together to form a drill bit. It was a real challenge getting her arm to look like it was spinning around, but I think I pulled it off. By far my favorite of the trilogy.
Another Megan pic. Not the best shot of her, but it's pretty cute. Here she's reading a real novel, Godzilla 2000 by Marc Cerasini. Reviews are mixed; haven't read it myself.
Megan, based on an unpopular Showa kaiju named Megalon, is the first K-Girl I created and designed completely on my own. I really thought they needed a bookworm character and who better than a bug kaiju? In this pic, the lines look a little odd because I didn't redo them in Photoshop, so those are the original pencil lines.
My very first gift art for Twisted Kaiju Theater. This here is GINA, which stands for "Godzilla Inspired Naked Animorph" (don't look at me, I didn't make it up), one of TKT's beloved Kaiju Girls. Most other gift artists go for the sexy look, but considering my influences, it made more sense to try something a bit more feral. The coloring style is also completely new and takes full advantage of Photoshop's Layer Styles and Textures. Short-cut City, baby. ^o^
Note: Some of these are altered versions. As most are gift/commissioned art for Twisted Kaiju Theater, several have been cleaned up for my site and the R-rated originals are exclusive to TKT. Go check 'em out for yourself!
Donna Kong is her name and she's based on the Toho version of King Kong. The brainchild of my buddy Conrad, I suspect she was actually named for Donkey Kong. XD
My newest character for Daikaiju High School, Des Ghidi. Based on the awesome Death Ghidorah from the lackluster Rebirth of Mothra movie, she's totally XTREME 2 DA MAXXX!!!! Funnily enough, it took me so long to color this after sketching the original drawing, Captain Slug beat me to a CGed pic of Des. @_o
A piece commissioned to commemorate TKT's "Legends" storyline, which features the return of King Kong as a new (old) villain and an epic rematch with Big G. I tried a variety of new techniques with this one, including a more in-depth line style and some fancy Photoshopping for the, ahem, spooge. I try to save the explicit versions for TKT exclusives, but by the very nature of the pic, it's X-rated only. Here is another pic for larger desktop dimensions.
